As a preparatory step to celebrate the Centenary year of
Sree Thakur Satyananda, we took out SREE SATYANANDA RATH YATRA with a chariot and a car
which travelled throughout Bengal for 50 days. The team of 12 persons included speakers,
singers, magician and preaching materials in form of Cultural and Educative books,
leaflets, cassettes etc. This Rathyatra created a great impact and thousands and thousands
of people participated at every spot. Colourful posters were spreading the name and
message of Sree Thakur Satyananda. During pre centenary year a special Shata-Chandi-Yajna,
Puja and Prayers were held for world peace and welfare. The special event was first held
before Durgapuja at Salt lake area and the secondly before Kalipuja at Bhowanipur area.
Many devotees participated in the 5 day-event. The Shata Chandi recitation and Puja-Yajna
etc performed by priests were full with divine vibrations. During this period there were extraordinary flood in West
Bengal. So not only prayers but actual relief work were also conducted in flood affected
areas, particularly in the district of Birbhum and Murshidabad. Apart from other items,
more than 1100 Blankets were distributed, costing over a lakh of Rupees. The celebrations of the Holy Birth-Centenary of Sree
Thakur Satyananda were observed for 18 days at Sree Satyananda Devayatan. It was started
by lighting 100 lamps in the temple room. Sree Archana Maa started the lighting of lamp
and it was followed by a big crowd of Sannyasis, Sannyasinis, Dignitaries and Devotees
standing in queque.
The Celebrations included Lectures,
Seminars, Devotional songs, Classical songs, Classical instrumental music, Dancerecital
and Naamkeertan etc. by most renowned and eminent Scholars and Artists. Thousands of
people participated with joy. Divine culture and educative message of Sree Thakur
Satyananda were well spread during this period of one month.
